Meanwhile, Bandırma Natural Gas Combined Cycle Plant will be the largest plant of Turkey in this field with a single cycle consisting of 2 gas and a steam turbine by providing 920 megawatt(MW) net electricity generation.
The station real capacity of which is 930 MW will produce net 920 MW after its own internal consumption.
During winter months, this production level can rise up to a thousand MW. It is estimated to produce approximately 60 unit energy from each 100 unit gas and guaranteed efficiency rate of this station is 59% but this rate will rise up to 61%.This station, which was established with approximately 660 million Euros of investment, will use 6-7% natural gas of Turkey and produce approximately 7 billion kilowatt hour electricity in a year .In this state this station will have capacity to meet 70% electricity needs of Bursa, Balıkesir and Çanakkale.

Özaydın Madencilik Enerji Üretim İnş. ve İnş. Malz. Turizm Akaryakıt San.Tic. A.Ş. which has been assigned in the work of 2.19MW power biogas power plant construction to be performed in Bandırma-Edincik, will conduct "making excavation in the construction area, carrying, filling materials obtained from excavation to the determined areas, laying and compressing filling materials as stratified and blocking them through quarry stone".

"Due to the fact that our plant will produce biogas benefiting from chicken feces, it will be the first in Turkey even in the world. We will also benefit from the feces of 2 million 350 thousand chickens in Edincik. Our plant has 4 megawatt hours of electricity production. In the first stage, we will build 2 megawatt hours capacity. Cost of the plant to be established according to 2 megawatt hours will be 8 million dollars. We have totally 5 tanks including 4 of 5500 m3 and 1 of 7500 m3 in our plant. Installation of our plant has been made by a German company. Since the end of this month, our power generation will be realized 55 days after we begin to take feces. According to our agreement, for the first three years feces of the chickens will be brought to our plant by the chicken market owners. 5 employee will work in our city at the first stage. It will increase to 8 later.
Türkay, who emphasized that they can give electric power to be produced from biogas to HDA in Edincik if it is required as well as they use it in their plant, remarked that they will obtain compost fertilizer besides 90 degree heat energy after electric power to be obtained from biogas. Turkay said that their plant will launch reservoir process in February, and 70 days after it they plan to start electricity generation in April.
Telko Enerji Üretim A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Okan Türkay emphasizes that many chicken market owners make suggestion to give feces of chickens to them already and he adds that he believes activation of the plant will play an important role to resolve the problems of Edincik related to fly and stench.
